Why did we create this intensive?
Do you ever feel uninspired or “not in the mood” to write? Ever have a chance to do some songwriting but find yourself with a classic case of writer’s block? Professional songwriters have to be “on” every day, so they have to learn how to be creative and productive even when they don’t feel it. Anybody can be creative when they’re inspired. But if you want to access creativity irrespective of inspiration, you have to hone your “craft.”
Our goal is to teach you some of what we know about the “craft” of songwriting. We don’t claim to know it all, but as professional working songwriters, we feel confident that we can help you gain powerful and effective insight for your songwriting journey.
Through this intensive, we will give you weekly prompts, teaching, and assignments. You will gain tools and methods for creating that you can add to your already-impressive skill set. Once you have learned to more easily craft hooks, melody and structure, even when you’re not inspired, imagine how great your songs can be when you are inspired. When you learn to write great songs about things that might not even be important to you, imagine how much easier it will be to write songs about things that are important to you.
The combination of live coaching, teaching, deadlines, prompts, community and critiques will equip you to create and craft at your best.
